Zeta State in Austin 2018
The 2018 International Convention in Austin was a huge success! We voted on changing amendments to our International Constitution and Standing Rules. Here are the results.
Welcome Beta Beta!
Alpha Delta’s Expansion Project began Fall 2013 with one transfer from ZETA’s Alpha Gamma Chapter and one from IOTA’s Alpha Mu Chapter. By January 2017, eight members were traveling as much as sixty miles from Calhoun, Lafayette, Panola, and Yalobusha Counties to attend Alpha Delta meetings. The Chapter completed Zeta State’s Organization Survey (Form 8), thereby verifying that travel distances complicated attendance at chapter meetings and limited informal interactions as well. Membership Chair Melody Carter led the Chapter’s thorough discussion of the results, followed by a formal vote to accept the results and proceed to pursue expansion of Alpha Delta’s influence in Northern District. January 2017, Alpha Delta’s Executive Committee established an Expansion Committee composed of members from Tate, DeSoto, and Marshall Counties, as well as, members from Calhoun, Lafayette, Panola, and Yalobusha. The purpose was to thoroughly examine and document compliance with the nine expansion components required by ZETA State. Their work led to the formal request for approval of a new chapter by the February 2018 ZETA State Executive Board. Alpha Delta Chapter’s Expansion success is the culmination of collegial collaborations among International, State, District, and Chapter Members. Boards for the two chapters were installed simultaneously by State Membership Chair Chris Wall and a Committee Member Dorie Kisner. The bonds established in the expansion process are formalized in the inscription on the gavel for Beta Beta, honoring Alpha Delta’s surviving Charter Member, Bettina Caldwell, and Alpha Delta’s long serving ZETA State Treasurer, Sarah Smith.
